Renowned Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at Age 60.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his relatives shared in a message.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a social organizer known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, like:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.
Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
