An Australian man that leaped across a fence and touched actress Ariana Grande has been expelled and barred from Singapore.

The man, 26, was handed a penalty to over a week in jail for causing a public disturbance and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the country's border control told news outlets.

The man shoved beyond security and charged at the actress and singer, who was attending the regional launch for the musical adaptation on the thirteenth of November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

He has a background of causing disturbances at events and high-profile gatherings, including jumping on stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in this summer.

The incident caused anger in Singapore, with many saying he of re-traumatising Grande.

The pop star has discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at her concert in the English city in May 2017 took the lives of 22 individuals and affected hundreds.

In the legal process, the court heard he had made efforts to breach on the film's premiere multiple times, according to regional reports.

He then made a another effort to cross the barriers. Protection personnel intercepted him and pinned him down.

He then uploaded video clips appreciating the celebrity for allowing his presence and said he was "at liberty."

Police detained him the subsequent day and charged him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The District Judge the magistrate was cited by Channel News Asia as stating that he was looking for publicity, noting that he was incorrect to think he would not experience repercussions.

Grande has not commented on the incident.

The co-star discussed the event to NBC, stating that she "simply desired to make sure my friend was secure."

"I think he had no intention to us harm, but you can't predict with such situations, and I aimed to confirm that she was alright. That was my immediate response," she said.
