Fresh Details Surface About the Finding of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
Fresh particulars have surfaced about the tragic passing of renowned director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their residence residence on Sunday.
A Alarm
A source indicates quoting a person close to the family, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the house. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.
When she went into the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her contacted 911. Afterward, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently in custody without bail.
Disputed Reports
The confidential informant questioned several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.
The source also pushed back against published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
The statement includes descriptions of reportedly "unstable" behavior by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.
Ongoing Inquiry Timeline
According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for some hours.
Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the residence. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
